ROBERTA LOEW
(Founder/Owner/Acting & Voice Instructor) - While continuing with a diverse acting and singing career, Roberta founded ACTING OUT! and is proud to say that the company is successfully collaborating with several organizations. Roberta is a singer and performer nationwide, with credits including New York’s Nassau Coliseum, New Jersey’s Atlantic City, Chicago’s Auditorium Theater, and Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. She performs in musical theater, off-Broadway and children’s theater, and has also worked on several music videos and has done voice over work on both TV and radio.  For over ten years, Roberta has enjoyed teaching vocal technique professionally to children and adults. She is an alumna of the Lee Strasburg Acting Studio and has sharpened her teaching skills and techniques under the supervision and direction of the Gushee/Anania Acting Studio. Roberta is proud to be the Owner and Director of ACTING OUT! and Co-Artistic Director of PaperCup Productions Theatre Company and has co-authored two full-length musicals. She looks forward to ACTING OUT!’s Fall 2008/2009 program and is committed to helping children and adults understand and enjoy the world of acting, singing and performing.

AUTUMN HYMES (Company Manager/Acting & Pantomime Instructor) - Autumn began teaching during her senior year of college, at Scotlandville Magnet High School. She continued her teaching career at Cal State Fullerton for three years exploring stage techniques including basic textual preparation, personalization of a role, concentration, imagination and discipline with her students, while receiving her Master’s degree. After graduating, Autumn was offered an Adjunct position at Chapman University in Orange, Ca, where her introductory lecture course focused on the history of theatre, acting, lighting, stagecraft, from the Greeks to the present. She has had the opportunity to work on the show Entertainment Tonight and the Insider, developing her post production and production expertise. Over the years, Autumn has refined her skills as a sound and film editor. She has recently started her own production company, Variety Pack Entertainment, LLC. Her acting credits include a wide range of productions from Chekov to Shakespeare. Autumn is a trained professional singer in the styles of Jazz, Musical Theater, Pop, and Gospel. She's passionate about being an educator, challenges the expectations of her students and pushes them to act out their uniqueness.MissAutumn@ActingOutOnline.com

 

KAILA POOLER (Acting Instructor/Big Stars Instructor) - Kaila Pooler is a recent graduate of Brooklyn College and proud to join Acting Out! ready to exercise her Bachelor of Fine arts in acting. Kaila yields from central Wisconsin and came to Brooklyn four years ago to earn her degree and begin the pursuit of a performance career--commercial work, classical acting, teaching, and stage management here in NYC. Kaila has a wide range of performance credits that include Shakespeare, Moliere and musical theatre. She has a great deal of technical experience as well, most recently as the stage manager for Acting Out!'s June production of B.C.E. - 09. This fall Kaila will specialize in the younger set of Acting Out! students as the teacher for the Little Stars and Big Stars classes. She encourages individuality in her students as well as the importance of personal strength and self-worth. She is looking forward to developing her professional career as well as be a part of the growth of Acting Out! and its exceptional students.


RYAN NEARHOFF (Vocal Coach/Piano/Musical Theatre Instructor) - 

Ryan is a professionally trained actor, singer, dancer from Southern California.  His recent performing credits include High School Musical for Atlanta Theater of the Stars and Altar Boyz at the Sacramento Music Circus.  He has worked with professional recording artists such as Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, and Gladys Knight.  As a vocalist, Ryan recently worked and recorded with Marty Panzer, longtime award-winning lyricist and best friend of Barry Manilow.  Mr. Ryan received his B.F.A. in Musical Theater from California State University, Fullerton in 2007.  He is a member of Actors Equity Association and is a working New York actor.  He is very excited to be joining the Acting Out team and looks forward to sharing his time, knowledge and love of theater with his students.  



LAUREN STEVENS (Vocal Coach/Musical Theatre Instructor) - Lauren received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from California State University, Fullerton in musical theater.  She recently completed the advanced acting course at the Berkeley Repertory Theater in Berkeley, CA.  Lauren has had training in various vocal styles from classical to musical theater for over a decade.  While continuing a career in the Performing Arts Lauren has performed with artists such as Carol Channing, Kristen Chenoweth, and Gladys Knight.   Lauren moved out to New York from Orange County, CA. two years ago, and has been teaching children around the tri-state area ever since.  She is passionate about the performing arts and is thrilled to be given the opportunity to share her passion with the stars of tomorrow!  


JOHN ISGRO
 (Founding Member/Administrator/Acting Instructor) -
John is a working actor who has received his masters degree in acting from Brooklyn College . During his time at Brooklyn College , John served as an associate professor working with undergraduate actors to teach them the basics of scene work and improvisation as they began their journey towards acting careers. John's acting resume contains a wide range of productions from Shakespeare to off-Broadway to children's theatre. Sharing his knowledge and experiences in the world of acting is something John has grown to love and appreciate more and more each day. MrJohn@ActingOutOnline.com


CHRIS CICCHINO (Head of Music Division/Music Instructor) - Chris Cicchino has a B.A. degree in music from Rutgers University and has been a professional guitarist and music teacher for over 20 years in both NY and NJ. As an educator, he taught a music program for young children with 'Kids for Music' bringing music education to schools throughout NY and southern Connecticut. As a musician, he has performed professionally with Jim Breuer (Saturday Night Live) playing across America and on his best selling DVDs and as music director for his live radio show; as well as with CMC recording artist Alexi Lalas as the supporting act for Hootie and the Blowfish on their sold out European Tour. Chris also played lead guitar for the CBS recording act "Heaven" from 1988-1990 touring over 30 US states. He has also played with stars such as Dave Chapelle, Tracy Morgan, Rob Halford (Judas Priest) Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Charlie Daniels, Artie Lange (Howard Stern) and many more. Chris has also played professionally in Wedding , Top40 and dance bands for over 20 years throughout the tri-state area.

JENNIFER TULLOCK (Stage Manager/ Acting Instructor) is thrilled to be a part of the Acting Out family!  An actor and writer, her work has been featured at venues around the country, including Lincoln Center, Second City, New York Fringe, and Broadway Comedy Club. She is the former singer/songwriter for New York jazz band Punch & Judy and the Head Writer/Creator of the 1940's radio satire The Out of Hand Radio Hour. Selected stage credits include: Stop Kiss (Raven Theatre Chicago), Anastasia, Mrs. Warren’s Profession (Liz Hodes Studio), Fabulous! (Oracle Theatre Chicago), Love in a Tub (Broadway Comedy Club), George & Laura Bush Perform (New York Fringe). Film: Today's Special (starring Anne Jackson), In the Hot Seat, WAKI, Marcel.  In June 2010 her new two woman comedy “Homegrown: the Small Town Chronicles” will begin a residency at Broadway Comedy Club. She is currently collaborating with Piennocchi Productions on the US premiere of The Projectionist and can be seen this year in the web series 364.   BFA Millikin University. Thanks, Roberta!
